Q & A
Can a beginning level photographer take the workshop?
This is up to the student, as “beginners” is a subjective matter. We expect most students will be “intermediate to advanced” level photographers. Some experience is useful to get the most of the instruction. However, we understand and appreciate that many of today’s most enthusiastic photographers work on Instagram or other social media site and may have relatively little technical knowledge. If in doubt, send us a portfolio of your best 12 or so images.
A DSLR or mirrorless camera, though almost any camera (even a film camera) will do.
If I shoot film, how do I show images?
There is a local lab that can handle film development and scanning. It will slow up the process, and add some expense to you, but it is possible. If your subject is unmoving (landscape, architecture, still life), you can shoot with both a film and a digital camera and use the digital version for the class critiques.
Is a Visa required to visit Rome?
It depends on your citizenship. American citizens visiting less than 90 days do not need a Visa. Citizens of other countries should check with their local Italian consulate or search the web for guidance.
